영화 ‘링컨: 뱀파이어 헌터’의 티무르 베크맘베토브 감독과 주연배우 벤자민 워커가 남다른 한국에 대한 애정을 드러내 눈길을 끌었다.

베크맘베토브 감독과 워커는 16일 오전 서울 성동구 행당동 왕십리CGV에서 ‘링컨:뱀파이어 헌터’ 시사회 후 진행된 내한 기자회견에 참석했다. 워커는 미국의 대통령 링컨 역을 맡았고 이날 함께 참석한 메리 엘리자베스 윈스티드는 링컨의 여인 메리 역을 열연했다. 영화는 링컨 대통령이 사실 뱀파이어를 사냥하는 전사였다는 기상천외한 소재를 다룬다.

이날 워커는 “한국인 룸메이트가 있었다고 소개됐는데 사실 그는 여자친구였다”고 깜짝 고백했다. 그러면서 “이번 영화로 한국 관객을 만나게 돼서 즐겁다”고 소감을 전했다. 또 한국 문화에 대해서도 “한국인들은 존경심이 대단하다. 연장자나 조상, 전문가에 대한 존경심이 크다”고 관심을 표했다.

영화는 30일 개봉한다. 이날 시사회를 통해 베일을 벗은 영화는 200년이 조금 넘는 짧은 역사 속에서 새로운 전설을 환상적으로 그려내 흥미를 자극했다는 평이다.

Bekmambetov and Walker were present at a press interview after the press preview of ‘Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ at Wangsiplee CGV in Hangdang-dong on 16th. Walker took a role of US President Lincoln and Elizabeth Winstead attending with them performed as a Lincoln’s woman ‘Mary’. This movie is covering the bizarre story that the President Lincoln was a vampire hunter in fact.

On the day, Walker surprisingly confessed that the Korean roommate presented through media used to be his girlfriend. He also showed his pleasure to meet Korean theatergoers. And he expressed his interest in Korean culture, “Korean has a great deal of esteem. Respect to elders, ancestors and experts is remarkable.”

This movie will premiere on 30th. This movie disclosed the veil through the preview received review that it stimulates interest with fantastic depiction of a new legend in short history around 200years.
